ANOTHER OPENING ANOTHER SHOW ANOTHER GREAT SEASON is just weeks away. It is the first Saturday of May.The new Kentucky Derby winner is wearing roses. Street Sense was the odds-on favorite and did not disappoint. We have relied on our senses and are offering up nine productions in this our 22nd year at Lakewood Theater--and you will not be disappointed! The eighteen week season requires eighty-one actors. Twenty-nine of these talented people have never set foot on the famed Lakewood stage before. ROLL-CALL The Curtain will go up on the 107th Season of America's Oldest Summer Theater on Thursday, May 24th. CLOTHES ENCOUNTERS--unzipped nonstop nonsense. Alan Masters (BOBBY KENISTON), Mr. Real Estate, knows the selling points of the apartment he is showing to Betty Parker (NANCY McGUIRE.) He does not know, however, that his wife Kathy (MICHELLE SWEET) is also showing the apartment to Betty's husband, Ralph (JEFFREY QUINN.) Neither knows the shower is faulty and no one knows much about Heinz (JAYSON SMITH), the bumbling handy man who grows giant tomatoes. The misdirected shower inadvertently soaks Betty and then Ralph who, scantily clad in the homeowners' clothing, are kept out of each other's way by the artful, ridiculous machinations of Alan and Betty. The walk-in closets conceal more than clothes in this farce of mistaken identies, sexual innuendos, and double meanings. A must see property! Sponsored by: Dr. Chester (Chet) Smtih & Leitha Wallace And Coming Soon....... Jed Clampett (GARY DORMAN), Granny (RAELENE KENISTON), Jethro (TED SMITH) and Elly Mae (ANN LEAVITT) are The Beverly Hillbillies. The large cast includes: Ashley Carey, Matthew Chapdelaine, Nelda Chase, MJ Clifford, Irving Gray, Jantha Gray, Kylie Keene, Juan Lavalle-Rivera, Tim Pomelow, Jason Poulin, Jan Powers, Cheryl Seamans, Cathie Starbird, Megan Taylor, Holly Weiss, and Travis Wood. Whee doggies! MARK NADEAU is Foxwell J. Sly and BOBBY KENISTON is his cunning assistant Simon Able in SLY FOX, Larry Gelbart's masterful adaptation of the classic Volpone. A trio of greedy old codgers are played by Lakewood veteran RON VENO and newcomers RICK FAYER and KEN GANZA. JEN FLANNERY and TINA De BACKER provide a feminine touch. The supporting cast includes: Judy Hamblin, John Harlow, James Paine, and Jeff Quinn. Don your poodle skirts, dust off your white bucks, and take a stroll down memory lane. It is 1955. CORY KING, as a motorcycle riding rousabout, has the inhabitants of this square little town in a square little state ALL SHOOK UP. The object of his charms--local DJ SHARON BUCK. Providing backup for an assortment of Elvis songs: Dan Bacon, Dylan Bolduc, Wallace Bruce, Christina Chaisse, Caleb Davis, Erica Davis, Gina Davis, Gary Dorman, Cassandra Dumont, Luke Ellis, Tamlyn Frederick, Amy Gagne, Larissa Gaias, Jantha Gray, John Harlow, Bobby Keniston, Diane Lapointe, Brittany Neal, Jason Poulin, Jake Primmerman, Jan Reynolds, Leah Russakoff, Cheryl Seamans, Kristin Seavey, Jessica Shrader, and Hannah Weston. It is Christmas in July as a veteran cast gathers for Christmas dinner in THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT. When the Angel of Death (MARK NADEAU) arrives on Christmas Eve to claim fiesty Julia Dowling (MJ CLIFFORD), she makes him an offer he does not refuse. Places are set at the table for: JOHN CRAIG, CALEB DAVIS, CORY KING, NANCY McGUIRE, MIDGE MERRILL, JEFFREY QUINN, and RACHEL SCHINK. (This wonderful script is rated PG for language.) She is a frustrated editor--he is a frustrated writer. It seems inevitable they will team up. The husband and wife team of PAM and TED SMITH are half the cast of NOBODY'S PERFECT. DANIELLE BEAMAN is Ted's goth-inspired teenage daughter and MARK NADEAU is his rascally father. Sounds perfect. You are crazy if you miss LISA NEAL and JOE LaCOMBE in the new Gershwin musical comedy CRAZY FOR YOU. The ensemble of show girls, cowboys, and townspeople includes: Dan Bacon, Wallace Bruce, Jenna Cates, John Craig, Caleb Davis, Erica Davis, Gina Davis, Gary Dorman, Amy Gagne, Jeff Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Bobby Keniston, Sarah Klomparens, Juan Lavalle-Rivera, Kathleen Lewia, Sarah Jane MacKay, Natale Chantelle, Jason Poulin, Jake Primmerman, Gerry Rudmin, Holly Sears, Kristin Seavey, Holly Taylor, and Emily Xie. Who could ask for anything more! Not to wish the Season away, but we are eager to see what inovative director Bobby Keniston does with the eighth production of the summer, JACK, the RIPPER, MONSTER of WHITECHAPEL. When we read this script at the Quinn homestead we were so anxious for the second act that we almost skipped our dessert break--key word "almost." Bobby's players include: JEN FLANNERY, MARY KATE GANZA, KEN GANZA, RAELENE KENISTON, ROBERT KENISTON, CORY KING, JUAN LaVALLE-RIVERA, ASHLEY LUCAS, MIDGE MERRILL, JAMES PAINE, JAK PETERS and ELLEN WHITE. We close our Season with the Ray Cooney production TOM,DICK and HARRY. What can go wrong in ten minutes? Allow MJ CLIFFORD, DIANNA GRAM, CORY KING, MARK NADEAU, GERRY RUDMIN, JAYSON SMITH, MICHELLE SWEET and RON VENO to demonstrate. We hope you have the good sense to make reservations early for any or all of this Season's productions! A WORD FROM OUR SPONSORS...
